29 CM nursing grads pass tough board examination

MAASIN CITY – The six year old College of Maasin’s School of Nursing has reaped honors for Southern Leyte by obtaining an impressive 83 percent passing rate in what was considered one of the toughest nursing licensure examination in the country’s history. The CM nursing school exceeded the national passing average of 40 percent by a whooping 43 percentage points.

It was an amazing accomplishment considering there was a moratorium on nursing schools when the CM School of Nursing was established. But Congressman Roger G. Mercado convinced then CHED Chairman Carlito Puno to exempt CM from the ban, since there was no nursing school in the province.

The 29 new nurses are: Abadiano, Aurora C. Abadiano, Bagohin Francis Ray M. Bagaohin, Marvin P. Bautista, Beringuel Marlene P. Beringuel, Hannah Mae P. Bertumen, Gabriel Quennie Bolongon,  Froilan O.Capian, Shulammita C. Catarman, Jonathan Q. Clerigo,  Joseleo V. Dances, Lovely G. Dayok, Mhyramae G. Gamayot., Marvin B. Gelsano., Jeseleo O. Gorme, Jason Said Juvanee F. Jualo, Roxanne Joy F.Lopos., Madelyn R. Mantilla, Janelle D. Masing, Mayorca Israel G. Mayorca,  Ana Simounetta Pagal, Vincent J. Ma, Salazar Maria Victoria Salazar, Sido Rowell K.Sido, Faith M. Solis, Jacklyn S. Sumabat.,  Nickneal O. Sumabat., Joena R. Tanquezon., Ma. Kim Ronneth S. Torres and Janice B. Yutina.
