Step Father Stabs Son, man shoots friend

It was a relatively peaceful week with only one reported stabbing and shooting incident.
Police claim the shooting which took place in Barangay San Isidro, Tomas Oppus was triggered by an argument between the victim Elmer Terrante Olita and his friend Albert Licay Tabenas. Witnesses told police the suspect who was losing a debate with the victim had shot him in the face with his revolver. Olita was rushed to the Sogod District Hospital where he is still in serious condition. Tabenas fled after the incident and is now being hunted by the Tomas Oppus police.
Meanwhile in nearby Barangay Banahaw, Bontoc a 29 year old farmer was stabbed by his 58 year old step father Felix Casa. Relatives claim the victim who was stabbed with a sundang in the left chest is now recovering at the Sogod District Hospital.
Police are still wondering what caused the step father to hack his own son.

Man Kills self with Blanket

Barangay Consolacion, Sogod – A man hanged himself with his own blanket at the bodega of his house here. The body of suspected self-killer Rizalito Silong was discovered by his brother.who rushed him to the Sogod District Hopital where he was declared dead on arrival.. Police claim Silong was crazy and had stabbed his mother with a fork a few days before taking his own life.

Friend Hacks Friend

Barangay Bancas, Hinunangan - Aldwin Devocion, a laborer was hacked to death by his friend Juleto Dumalag Malaki who used a razor sharp “Sundang.” Police claim the two had a heated argument and the assailant hacked the victim on the head and slashed off his left ear. Witnesses said Devocion died instantly.

Serial Robber Snagged

Barangay Tinago, Tomas Oppus –A 27 year old laborer lost his watch and an undetermined amount of money to his fellow laborer. Police claim the victim Marcos Maxino’s watch was stolen by his friend Rogelio Gumahit. Although the suspect admitted he stole the watch the victim refused to file charges against him. He changed his mind however when Gumahit robbed someone else right after he was released.

Man Robs Mother in Law

Barangay President  Roxas, Liloan – A resident here pilfered the lock on  his mother in laws house and ran off with 40,000 pesos. Police claimed the burglar Romeo Cuartriz and his companion Junnel Urgel had later fled to Bato,Leyte and were already on board the M/V Guadalupe bound for Cebu City when they were arrested by a Liloan police team. Cuartriz admitted they had stolen from his mother-in-law Gleciria Cervantez’s and returned the P21,000 that they had not spent.nod. Felipe Castañares who sustained minor injuries claimed the motorcyclists who were too young to drive were traveling at high speed when the accident happened. Police suspect the youngsters had too much to drink.

Fugitive Arrested

BARANGAY SANTO NINO, SAN JUAN - A fugitive wanted for murder was arrested here recently by Inspector Reynald Alfred Dauz. Police source identified the fugitive as Joseph Juabe Bulabog, a 32 year old resident of Barangay Osmena Libjo Provincila of Dinagat Island. Bulabog is now detained at the town jail..

Van Rams Motorcyclist

BARANGAY BUGASONG, LIBAGON – Another motorcyclist was killed here when her vehicle was hit by a Fuso Fighter van. Police claim the fatality, Nimfa Moralita Taotao a 42 year old resident of Barangay Bugasong suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Sogod District Hospital. It was the van’s driver Walter Capilitan Abendanio who reported the accident to the Sogod police
